Thank you for visiting my newly created website! I am so excited to be actually sharing my content through the web vs just on social media.
A little about me and my business I have loved crafting since I was a little girl. My Mom would make clothes and decor for her house and as gifts. I started crocheting & sewing at the age of 8. I made my first quilt at the age of 12. I have loved making things seems like all my life.
I love to make things with my hands, whether it be woodworking, painting, wreaths, quilts, wherever my mind takes me. My mom who has always been my biggest supporter passed away in 2018 after her health made it necessary to move in with me. She had an "apartment" as she called it in the basement and we loved visiting each night when I would get home from work and/or art class. I would always share with her my creations as well as she would share hers. Most usually she wanted whatever I created, and visa versa! Before she passed, her wish was for me to turn her "apartment" into my craft shop and expand my business from a table in my kitchen or garage to her family room downstairs with room for classes and workshops. So each night when I get home from work, I go downstairs to my now craft shop and create things that I know she would love. I usually do those on a Facebook live so my followers can keep me company. They always show me the love and support like my Mom would. I remember my first Facebook live like it was yesterday. I was in my dimly lit garage, using the webcam on my laptop and I had roughly 5 viewers and you guessed it, one of them was my Mom watching from downstairs! Each wreath, centerpiece, painting or home decor item I make, I always look at the finished piece and smile knowing my Mom would love it and would want me to make her one in heaven. I love you Mom! You are and always will be my Inspiration!
Update!
I am recently in the process of moving the gift shop portion of my business back to my garage and remodeling (progress pics coming soon!) It is so hard for people that have trouble getting around or disabilities to get to the basement. I want people to be able to shop and feel at ease about access. I now have a climate-controlled garage - it was HOT! before - and as soon as the COVID regulations are eased you will be able to stop by and browse, or just visit while I make my creations.
I am also hoping to start workshops and classes again at that time so be sure to check back for updates. In the meantime, I am doing live tutorials on my Facebook page (be sure to visit! https://www.facebook.com/mainspirationsandgifts ) and have a VIP group for those that have purchased from me in the past with some great discounts as well as a community group for information and just good inspirations – don’t we all need a little of that these days! I also have a Virtual Paint Party Group that you can join for free! There will be live paint tutorials coming soon to that group as well as a virtual paint class on the last Sunday afternoon of the month where we paint a project and you can order the blank doorhanger and/or supplies for the project. It will be shipped to you prior to the class and you can paint along with me! Checkout that group or check back with my website for more details! I am doing a floral box subscription program as well and will post more details on my website soon.
I do have a full-time job, for now. In three years I will be able to retire for the second time and do what I love full-time. Can’t wait!
Well back to work! Lots of orders going out and I am thankful and blessed, but I am ready to make some new things to share with you!
